“You are the sky, the rest is just weather.” The bunch will recognise this as bananachat.
When I then spotted Cape Cove had quoted “You are the sky. Everything else is just the weather.” – Pema Chödrön, on their product tags it added even more sparkle to my much-loved officially ‘lime’ (unofficially ‘POWER green’) Cape Cove pants.
I love a quote. I love detail, and I *love* bright, bold colours (especially that vibrant shade of green). I also love to use the power of nature in the creativity I bring to the world.
From the moment I met Clare, one of the Founders, and in my curiosity for Cape Cove, I discovered many synergies with this beautiful, female-founded, female-led, independent brand.
POWER is an intentionally wild+free bananas business; no fixed premises and no requirement for power (ironically), it’s visually spectacular yet audibly sensitive to its surroundings and nature.
Why? I know the power of green spaces and blue spaces – they were and still are some of the ‘ingredients’ I go to to overcome my mental health struggles. And, I believe in the power of immersive experiences alongside sympathetic and positive installation in natural environments.
The other ‘ingredients’ that support my wellbeing include connection, movement, play and a mental strength toolkit I practice, grow and evolve, that I bring to the POWER space, in the form of bananachat.
POWER on the Beach is an ever-growing, ever-reaching, now year-round experience. The bunch regularly travel for up to 2.5 hours to be part of a 45 minute POWER on the Beach experience. They too understand the power of getting out of urban environments – London and other urban areas – to the coast, for movement mindset, bananas, and community.
Whilst we also deliver POWER to workplace bunches in typical office spaces, as well as iconic landmarks in densely populated cities, nature inspires so much ‘material’ for me.
Bananachat – my real-time words of mental strength, mantras and mindfulness, spoken over a POWER playlist – is inspired by words written on bananas, the lyrics and energy of the specially-curated playlist, and the surroundings in which we move, on or off static bikes.
The ocean is rich in bananachat ‘material’: the unfolding of the waves, the calmness (or not) of the water, the perspective of the horizon, the gulls overhead, and the wild+free multisensory connection to the weather. Just like the quote.
The sight, sound, smell, taste and touch of the salty seascape; the weather rolling in and out (much like the tide) is a reminder that everything is temporary.
Being out in nature is the ultimate wild+free playground; under the Full Moon was alway on my vision board, it’s now a monthly fixture, however I’m yet to fulfil clifftop POWER. We will.
Beyond being inspired by nature, in our individual and unique products, POWER and Cape Cove both have a shared mission that focuses on connection (and reconnection) to self, each other and nature, collaboration, and sharing stories to support each other.
However you connect (with everything that’s important), make time to. And, make time for curiosity and exploration – to find your natural spaces, people and practices that nurture you, and your home; on earth, and within.

Here I am pictured with Clare, one the Cape Cove Founders, at their Pop Up at GOAT – my favourite coffee shop, in Bracklesham (the location of POWER on the Beach) – we’re both wearing the aforementioned ‘POWER green’ Cape Cove pants which I bought myself. The robe and the swimwear and the beanie are all wonderful much-worn, much loved, gifts from Clare – thank you.
