When The Grocery first offered to support POWER with bananas for POWER on the Beach, a community anchor, it felt like more than a box of bananas.

Not only because a business chose to champion POWER, but because partnerships like this are an important part of the vision.

My vision for POWER is to grow a network of sponsors and supporters who fund community and charity spaces, creating more opportunities for people to experience connection, safety and possibility regardless of their circumstances. This partnership felt like a glimpse of what that future could look like.

As our conversations continued, I shared that Fairtrade was important to me and to the values behind POWER.

The team reviewed their suppliers and introduced Fairtrade bananas in store. For me, it was a lovely example of people sharing values, listening to one another and creating a positive outcome together.

More than that, it marked the beginning of a brilliant ongoing partnership.

We’re delighted to support the wonderful work you’re doing with a box of delicious bananas.  Here’s to the power of bananas.

Since that first box, we’ve continued creating wonderfully bananas moments together.

From community experiences ‘on the Beach to one of my favourite moments of the year, bringing festival vibes to Northshore with a banana word Polaroid pinboard, the support has created opportunities for connection in simple but meaningful ways.

Today, the partnership continues as part of my TEDx adventure.

The handwritten notes that arrive with each delivery are a reminder that the best partnerships are about far more than sponsorship. They’re about shared values, mutual encouragement and a real desire to make a positive difference.

From community experiences on the beach to Northshore and TEDx, it’s a wonderful example of how seemingly small acts of support can have a surprisingly big impact.

It’s been a proud POWER partnership so far, and I’m excited to see where the next box of bananas might lead.

We’re honoured to continue our love and support of all things POWER with a box of bananas. Thank you for championing the humble banana and for  the incredible community you’ve built around it. Keep doing your brilliant thing.
